Kitchen Configuration

In this guide, you will learn how to set up printers for different prep stations, create and customize receipt templates, and manage prep stations for both front of house and kitchen areas to enhance efficiency and food quality.

Printer

Each restaurant will have prep station for preparing and serving different types of dishes. Prep stations require corresponding printers to print orders that have been placed.

If you want to configure your printers to print the correct prep station's tickets, you can do in Peppr as follows:

  • In Peppr website, navigate to Device > Printers and cash drawers, and click New printer.

  • Enter basic information.

  • Configure printers for different prep stations.

    Choose link with Front of house, if you need to configure a printer of front of house.

    Select the corresponding prep station in the kitchen that you need to link with.

    Select all the prep station in the kitchen to configure the expo printer.

    Select all the prep station in the kitchen and choose Yes in Link to front of house if you need to print all prep stations in just one printer.

  • Choose whether to link with a Cash drawer.

Receipt templates

Setting a standard template for printed receipts in a restaurant system is very important. It can enhance brand image, ensure information accuracy, improve work efficiency, aid in management monitoring, and comply with legal requirements, providing better support and protection for restaurant operations and customer service.

If you want to set a standard template for printed receipts, you can do in Peppr as follows:

  • Find Receipt templates from Printouts in the navigation bar.

  • Click Edit to enter the editing page.

  • Edit your Header and Footer, which will be printed in checks and receipts to customers. The header and footer will display Peppr and Welcome by default, and they can also be customized.

  • Select the fields that will appear on printed receipts and these fields will appear on all receipts.

Preparation stations

The prep station refers to the work table or area where ingredients and food are prepared. It plays a very important role in the restaurant system as the core working area in the kitchen, directly impacting food quality, process efficiency, and food safety. By properly planning and managing the prep station, restaurants can increase kitchen production efficiency, ensure food quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.

If you want to configure prep stations, you can do in Peppr as follows:

1. Front of house

  • From Devices in navigation bar, go to Prep stations.

  • Tap Edit to modify.

  • Enter the Name of front of house, and choose Combine items.

  • Choose the quantity of each Printed receipt type.

2. Kitchen

  • In the Peppr website, navigate to Devices > Prep stations , and select the prep stations in the kitchen that you want to modify.

  • Click Edit to enter the editing page.

  • Enter the Name ,and then choose Combine items and print mode.

  • Choose the quantity of each Printed receipt type.

  • Tap Create item to add some items for this menu group.

Notes:

  1. There is only one prep station in Front of house.

  2. You can add multiple prep stations to the kitchen, and different dishes can be assigned to different prep station. In Peppr website, navigate to Menu > Menu group > Item > Prep station to set the prep station that an item will use for. By default, menu groups inherit prep stations from their parent menus and menu items inherit prep stations from their parent menu groups.
